Kefa Olang, Portrait Photographer

So how exactly did I get into photography? In case you're wondering, I didn’t have this incredibly epiphany nor did I find an old camera covered in dust, and the dawning of a new era began. On the contrary, would you believe me if I told you that I actually stumbled into photography simply because I wanted to take better “selfies.” Yup! About 8 years ago, I was looking for new ways to take selfies because I hated the idea of taking self portraits in a bathroom as popularized by the then popular social media tool, Myspace. One evening, I took out my video camera (I didn’t have a digital camera at the time), mounted it on a tripod, turned on a few softbox light sets that I had, and recorded some short video poses, which I turned into stills using video recording software. I posted the results on Facebook, and to my amazement, the feedback was tremendous. The reception exceeded my expectations, and in that euphoric state, my love for photography began. Now that you know how I stumbled into photography, read a long to find out a little bit more about me.

I love photographing people, and specialize in portrait, beauty, family, headshot, & fashion photography, amongst others. My style is modern, creative & artistic. Whether indoors, in a studio or outdoors, I love playing around with natural and artificial lights, and colors to create beautiful images.

Aside from photography, I love my wife. She’s a wonderful wife, and the sweetest and kindest person I’ve been so blessed to have in my life. She’s also a great model in many of my portraits. I don’t grow my hair, so Summer breezes are amazing for my bald head. As for Winters, well that’s another story
I’m also a travel junkie, and have been fortunate enough to visit a number of countries, including Italy, Norway, Germany, Greece, Mexico and Netherlands. I love all things tech, and always ready to spend money on additional photography gear (as long as my wife lets me).

So if you’re looking for a professional portrait photographer who’s not only passionate about his craft, but is social, smiley, and enjoys meeting new people, I’m only a phone call or message away.
